FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  1. What’s a scanlation group?

It’s an online manga translation provided for readers for free. It’s a fan to fan serice; meaning that we are devoted fans who want to provide the work for others to enjoy.
  2. Can I use your project and translate it to another language?
Sure thing! All you have to do is email/pm(on forums) with your groups URL, and what project you’re intending to work on. Then we’ll add you to our affies list. That way, you get advertised, and other groups know that it’s already being translated into x language. We never say no unless you’re trying to claim all our series. Let’s be realistic, and not greedy, kay?
  3. Am I allowed to host your project on a manga hosting site?
Our group uploads to Batoto within 24 hours of public releasal. You are allowed to host our project after 24 hours have passed. The reason behind 24 hours is that we may had missed an error, which could be corrected within that 24 hours.
  4. Why are some projects not being released as fast as some others?
We try to assign each series their own translator so that the series will be completed. Sometimes, we lose staff members, and sometimes the staff members are stalled with RL issues. So if you’re able to, come help out by lessening our workload. It’s very rewarding being on the giving side, rather than the receiving (no pun intended /wink). Plus, you’re not signing your life away. If you ever find it too hard to endure, then just tell me, and we’ll let you go.
  5. Do you do Joint Projects?
Apparently you don’t know me very well. I LOVE doing joints. It shows that our group is friendly and open, and we get our name out there. We get to meet new friends (in the other group), and we get to meet new fans. Especially when we have joints on new genres that we don’t typically work on.
  6. Why don’t you guys have an IRC?
TBH, I don’t know how to use it. My interpretation of it was that it’s a giant chat box. After playing MMOs for 6 years, and never having heard of it, I didn’t know what to think of it. I could get a vent, lol. So, unless someone can open my world to it, GGScans will not be using an IRC.
  7. What’s your policy on License issues?
All license policies and questions can be read and asked here.
  8. How do I download your past releases?
We have a box on our main site with the current month’s release links. If you’re seeking older releases, you’ll have to visit our forums and search under the series name. It’s very easy to navigate, so you shouldn’t have any problems.

Hello.
My name is Beatriz (#paranoic) and I have a group that translate manga, DJ and webcomic. We would love to translate Kono Ore ga Omae Nanka Suki na Wakenai - from your old blog - to Portuguese. Could I use your scans for translation? Of course, I will credit you back. Are there any rules that I have to follow?
Thank you for your hard work <3
